This was a fun night, and The Petty Gripes were helped by playing after the conclusion of the Stasche Bash 2008, which guaranteed lots of happy fans to dance to our songs.

Highlights included Simon Waldron singing the Buzzcock's "Ever Fallen in Love"

We like the place, although the PA monitors didn't work so it was tough to hear; parking was nonexistent for people, and after happy hour, drinks went up to $9 beers and $15 cocktails - a tad pricey for our rabid fans.

Pictures coming soon.

Set 1:

Marketing Idiot

Psycho Killer

What's So Funny

Our Lips Are sealed (featuring Erin Sullivan)

Hungry Like The Wolf

Basket Case

We Got The Beat (featuring Erin Sullivan)

The Middle

Plannerville

Ooh La La

Just Like Heaven

Dancing With Myself

Times Like These

Set 2:

Save it For Later

Burning Love

I Think I Love You

Best Friend' Girl

Ever Fallen in Love? (featuring Simon Waldron)

Love Song

Route 66 (Featuring Erin Sullivan)

Squeeze Box

Tainted Love

What I Like About You

Dirty Girl

Should I Stay or Should I Go

Grog - May 15th

 alt="Grog - May 15th"
 width="99"
 height="128" />

The Show at Grog was our first show back together as a fierce foursome, ostensibly for Paul's going away to Spain party. Grog was a fine establishment, and with 75 people in there, the place looked and was packed.

Set List:

What's So Funny (Peace, Love & understanding)

Should I Stay Or Should I Go

What I like About You

Dirty Girl

Plannerville

Last Time

Psycho Killer

Save It For Later

All Over Now

Squeezebox

Brown Eyed Girl

Best Friend's Girl

Route 66 (featuring guest singer Erin Sullivan)

Dancing With Myself

Times Like These

Basket Case

We hadn't played with Paul for a while, but once back on stage, it all made sense again and was a ton of fun.

12/1/08 UPDATE: we had hoped to play here consistently, what with it's smarmy tiki charm, cheap drinks, and our ability to pack the house, but it appears Grog has gone under. I'm hoping The Petty Gripes aren't a cursed band. Hopefully it will re-open soon under new management.
