The Toys Play the design Xchange, Mattel Tent, March 2007
Who would have thought the Grand Building could look like a swanky lounge? Thanks to a bunch of designers, the Grand building was transformed into a sweet venue for the Toys to Play. Special guests included now semi-permanent member Richie, Mike Finizza, and Scott Stonecipher.

Mattel Boys Employee Update, Mattel Cafeteria, February 2007

Featuring Richie and Erin. Two songs only  - Gimme Some Margin (with the lyrics magically appearing on the screen) and Route 66.

Mattel Inventor's Dinner, Cheesecake Factory, Redondo Beach, January 2007

After having said that we should try to play more than 1 gig a year, Richie Weintraub went into full Ruben Kincaid mode and got us some gigs, including playing at the Inventor's dinner. This featured the current 6 member band including Tim back on Keys and Richie Weintraub as well. New songs featured included Designers USA, All Over Now.

Mattel Boys Holiday Party - Il Fornaio, Manhattan Beach, December 2006
Taking over the local Il Fornaio, the Toys and their guests the Premiums played an acoustic set for the Boys business unit for their holiday party. Unfortunately, Steve and Felix weren't able to make this show (affectionately known as Bandapalooza), but then again, with 6 guitar players, a singer, and a bass/mandolin/banjo/harmonica player, we didn't have oodles of stage space. This show featured the debut of Erin Sullivan's great version of Elmo Baby, an instant crowd favorite. Also featured the first time Richie Weintraub would play with us.

Mattel Picnic, September 2006

Keith's Engineering Holiday Party, Torrance Marriott, December 2005

The Toys played their first electric gig in over several years as Paul, Ned, Felix and Steve rocked the Torrance Marriott for a good 35 minutes with plenty of songs poking fun at Mattel. Tim was unable to make it, but vowed to play at an upcoming secret concert.

Keith Meggs Engineering Holiday Party, Torrance Marriott, December 2004

Playing as a fierce guitar-toting duo, Paul and Ned wowed the crowd with a slew of new tunes, including "Psycho Coster." The crowd was less excited about our acoustic protest version of Morrissey's "Panic."</p>

The Matty Awards, LAX Hyatt Hotel, March 2004

Stripped down to the original trio of Paul, Tim and Ned, The Toys played "Plannerville" to a packed crowd.

4th Annual Holiday Party, Stick & Stein, El Segundo, CA, December 2002

this was the year without Paul, and we recruited Jeremy Padawer, who we thought could sing. We, and the Stick & Stein, were sadly proved wrong.

Johan's Goodbye Party, Nadja's, Redondo Beach, CAJune 15, 1996

This was a goodbye party for our friend Johan. Featuring Paul, Ned, and Lisa. Big song was Pretty Blonde Boy Johan.

Ho Ho Ho! The Toys Christmas Party, Manhattan Beach, CADecember 18, 1995

Featured the Paul and Ned duo, which played Dirty Girl as well as the work-inspired holiday hit, When Will Santa Learn. Some have suspected that this song may have been written as an allegory to certain person's overly hands-on management styles at Mattel. The Toys have no comment on whether or not a certain Jill Barad was parodied, but we will leave it at that
Funk with the Monks, Monastery Bar, Phoenix, AZAugust 17, 1995
The Toys first Unplugged show. Featuring Tim, Ned, and Paul on guitars, and a lot of other people singing along. This was also the first public performance of Dirty Girl which we quickly found out didn't do well if everyone doesn't know the song. Surprise favorite singalong song: Stone Temple Pilot's Plush.
